The medication clearance calculator (ShowSafe Pro) is included in every StallWise plan and in the free trial. It estimates when each medication a horse has had will be past the detection times that governing bodies publish, such as USEF, FEI, HISA and ARCI. Every result cites its source.
Where to find it
- More > Health & Veterinary > Medication clearance.
- On each horse's profile, where a clearance panel shows the status for the horse's next show. Tap Open calculator.
Before your first check, read and accept the terms. They're in Clearance settings (the sliders icon at the top right of the calculator).
It reads your health records. The calculator counts the doses logged for the horse over the past year. To make sure a dose is counted:
- On the medication, set Drug (for medication clearance), the dose in mg and the route.
- Each time the horse gets a dose, open Health Records > Medications and tap Log a dose.
Run a check. Pick the horse, then its show or the time it competes, and the rulebooks. Then tap Check clearance. Use Plan a dose to see the latest time a medication can be given before a show. Tap Save to keep a record. Saved checks (the clock icon) show each check as it was worked out.
Safety margin. In Clearance settings, enter a margin as a Percent, a number of Hours, or both. When you enter both, the larger one is added to every published time. Enter who set it under Set by, usually your veterinarian. Saved checks keep that name.
Results are estimates, never a guarantee. A detection time is not a withdrawal time. The trainer is responsible for what is in the horse, whatever the calculator shows. Always check the governing body's own rules, ask your veterinarian, and consider an elective test when a result is uncertain.
